Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū is Ōtautahi Christchurch's public art gallery in the heart of the city, and home to one of Aotearoa's most important public art collections. This is a rare opportunity to join an experienced, dedicated and hardworking team in the largest art institution in Te Waipounamu.The Retail team are a crucial part of the Gallery, offsetting our operational costs by providing a dynamic and fresh retail experience, unique to the city. We create our own range of product inspired by our exhibitions as well as sourcing interesting stock to create distinctive merchandising which reflects our Gallery. Great customer service and manaakitanga are valued by us.Our Gallery and Design Store are open seven days a week. We are currently overhauling our online presence and look forward to activating this part of our operation soon.The Retail Administrator closely supports the Retail Manager, and takes responsibility for:Ensuring all stock ordered or created is processed, loaded and ready for display (instore and online)Managing accounts, invoices and royalty paymentsKeeping track of stock on site and in our data management systemPrioritising our fabulous customers through service excellence, including sales and customer queries online and in storeTraining and supporting retail assistants/visitor hostsCompiling reports and information for the Gallery and Council financial team as requiredSupervising the front of house team when neededTo be successful in this role you will:Be experienced in retail administration, stocktake and reconciliations, have a keen eye for detail, love a spreadsheet and have a can-do attitude when approaching tasksHave excellent customer service, manaakitanga and interpersonal skills. Be kind, patient and genuinely interested in serving a diverse range of people.
