THE EXCITING OPPORTUNITY
We opened The Municipal Hotel Liverpool M Gallery in May 2023 and have reset the clock within this historic building, bringing it back to life. We create memorable moments for all life enjoyers to experience unique stories from the past but also to write their own astonishing tales of the future. We boast 178 stunning bedrooms set in a remarkable and inspiring landmark of the city. Time is of essence and at the heart of The Municipal’s story. Its iconic clock tower and bells giving the tempo to a timeless melody. Various restaurants, bars and a state-of-the-art spa sanctuary including a pool, will offer everyone the place to have the time of their lives, reset the clock and embark upon their own magical journey…
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A RESTAURANT MANAGER AT THE MUNICIPAL
What you'll be doing...
Reporting to the Director of Food and Beverage, you can expect your working day to include the following:
Leading a team in delivering the experience our guests are already expecting from this five-star property for a fixed term maternity cover of up to 12 months.
Training and developing a team to deliver sucess.
Work closely with the kitchen, reservations and sales team to ensure effective communication and delivery.
Work closely with the HR Director in identifying and nurturing new and existing talent.
Completion and monitoring of rotas, payroll costs and driving revenue.
Perform any other job-related duties on varied shifts (breakfast / midday or evenings subject to needs of the business 5 days over 7).
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
To succeed in the role of Restaurant Manager, you will need the following qualities and skills.
Proven track record of successfully establishing and directing a team within a busy restaurant, over breakfast, lunch and evening service (experience within a hotel environment would be advantageous).
To demonstrate progressive career growth, a passion for the industry.
To have a provern pattern of exceptional performance and growth demonstrated by positive guest experiences seen across review platforms.
Possess excellent organisation and time management skills with an eye for detail and the ability to use own initiative. Having the ability and skill to identify and switch between operational and administrative duties dependant on needs of the business.
The ideal candidate will be able to work well under pressure whilst maintaining a positive, can-do attitude and be highly motivated with a drive to succeed to be the best in the industry and inspire a team.
Customer focused with a commitment to delivering exceptional levels of guest service and honour the legacy of The Municipal and its history.
Excellent leadership skills with a hands-on approach and lead-by-example work style to engage a team.
Ability to manage and nurture a team, setting standards whilst being aproachable in nature.
Personal integrity, with the ability to work in an environment that demands excellence, time, and energy.
Strong communication and listening skills, excellent speaking, reading, and writing skills.
Excellent ability to work collaboratively across all functions and departments witih the business.
Experience of using IT and HR Systems on various platforms (opera / micros / Open Table / Fourth and ProcureWizard would be advantageous).
An open, positive, and communicative personality
Ability to handle multiple challenging priorities and assignments.
