Job description
We are working with a leading training provider to recruit a Residential Childcare Assessor/Tutor/IQA to deliver and assess residential childcare apprenticeships and qualifications level 3 – 5 across London, surrounding areas, and Southern England.
This is a permanent part time (2 days per week plus holiday cover) hybrid role, will consider freelance. Salary up to £32,000 per year pro rata.
The role
We require a qualified and experienced apprenticeship trainer/assessor to deliver classroom sessions, remote sessions, and face-to-face within the workplace, along with occupational experience of working within a residential childcare setting.
Essential: Do you hold the Level 3 Assessor Qualification?
You will need to be able to deliver inspiring teaching and learning and to set clear progression goals for learners you work with, guiding them through their qualifications and apprenticeships. Achievement of a recognised assessor qualification along with teaching qualifications is required. Also, an IQA qualification would be advantageous but not essential.

There is a shortage of qualified assessors in the market so we are keen to speak with experienced Health and Social Care Professionals that want to change careers.
You will have a comprehensive induction and monthly supervisions with a programme manager and be part of a team within the sector who are able to help you with any issues and make sure you are on track to meet the achievable standards of a competent training organisation.
You will need to have excellent administration and communication skills and will be responsible for identifying the learners strengths and areas for development through initial assessment. You will be supporting learners accordingly through their apprenticeship, providing clear progress feedback to learners and support to ensure they meet their set goals. The role also requires you to monitor and ensure each learners progression is recorded efficiently liaise with employers, as well as delivery of teaching sessions.
The successful candidate will be based from home planning their own diary, visiting learners within their place of work carrying out observations, and assessing written assignments and progress reviews in order for them to progress through their qualifications.
