Job description:
Role: Reservoir Engineer Apprentice

Location: We currently have Reservoir Engineer Apprentice opportunities to join our Raw Water team covering sites in the South/West Yorkshire area and North/West Yorkshire area. Could this be you? A full UK driving licence (with no more than 6 points) is an essential requirement of this role, with the ability to travel between sites.
Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday Friday.

The Reservoir Engineer Apprentice will enable you to work in a great environment, in the countryside across Yorkshire, ensuring our reservoirs are safe by carrying out inspections, maintenance, and collecting data as well as ensuring we maintain supply to our customers across the region.
The Reservoir Engineer Apprentice will manage their workload and resources to effectively operate raw water assets. You will have ownership and responsibility for the output and performance of raw water assets, ensuring delivery of service, compliance, and value targets. You will ensure water is always delivered to the right quality and quantity at the right time, providing a customer service experience that is second to none.
Where you fit in:
As our Reservoir Engineer Apprentice , you will:
Work as part of the team to deliver excellent performance by understanding how their individual performance links into achieving the teams wider objectives.
Operation and maintenance of raw water assets achieving financial targets for unit costs within regulatory compliance.
Operation and maintenance of assets in accordance with WRAP guidelines to deliver the optimum resource.
Maintaining and promoting a safe working environment
Compliance with statutory requirements (Water Quality, Environment Agency, H&S, The Reservoirs Act, Water Industries Act 1991)
Liaise with other bodies where necessary to resolve/implement. Responding to external customer enquiries and complaints, investigate problems, identify solutions (Estate owners, Planning Authorities, National Parks, Environment Agency and Farmers)
Awareness of the interaction of activities on other parts of the business and communication and liaison with internal customers in such circumstances. (Planning issues, Herbicide spraying, Private spring supplies)
What skills, training and qualifications you will need:
5 GCSEs grade A-C or 4-9 including English and mathematics.
I.T. qualification at GCSE/level 2
Hold a full valid driving licence (with no more than six points) and your own transport for the duration of the apprenticeship to reach sites across the Yorkshire region.
Have previous experience of working in the outdoors and be willing to work in the outdoors.
Be self-motivated, always willing to learn new skills and take pride in everything you do.
This role has a requirement to carry out occasional work in confined spaces so the successful completion of a medical performed by our Occupational Health Department and the relevant training course is essential. The successful candidate must pass strict medical criteria including, BMI, vision, blood pressure, hearing, and Spirometry tests to ensure your full safety when working in hazardous environments.

Recruitment Process
To assess your skills effectively, our selection process includes an online assessment, assessment centre and a follow up 2nd stage interview with the hiring manager interview if you are successful at the 1st stage assessment centre.
Closing date: 26th May 2024
1st stage Assessment centres taking place on 18th or 19th June 2024.
2nd stage interviews taking place from the 1st to the 5th of July 2024.
