We are looking for an exceptional individual to operationally lead the Trust Research and Development agenda and deliver on the ambitions of the Trust research strategy. The postholder will provide strategic, innovative, and collaborative leadership to realise the Trusts research ambitions. The Trust's research is focussed around the four streams of Children and Adolescent Mental Health, Neurodevelopmental (Learning Disabilities), Adult Mental Health and Dementia and Frailty with each stream having a dedicated lead.Main duties of the jobThe postholder will work closely with the trust research lead, research workstream leads, medical, nursing, allied health professional, pharmacy, and other clinical leads to expand research and development capacity and capabilities. The postholder will build and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders including and not limited to Higher Education Institutions, Health Innovation Networks, Applied Research Collaboratives, Integrated Care System, third sector, patient and carer groups and commercial entities. The postholder will aim to (i) improve staff and service user engagement in research, (ii) expanded research capacity, capabilities, and impact and (iii) strengthen collaboration and partnerships to generate research income. Candidates must have experience of working as a clinician within NHS Mental Health and Learning Disability services, hold a Doctorate level qualification and have experience of working at a senior level in an NHS organisation. Registered clinician with membership of a regulatory body such as the GMC, NMC, GpHC, HPC. Doctoral level qualification e,g PhD, MD, professional doctorate etc. Postgraduate Management Qualification (Diploma, MBA, or equivalent experience) Postgraduate qualification in appropriate mental health studies relevant to the postholders profession Demonstrable clinical practice in mental health and/or learning disabilities over a minimum of five years.

Successful track record delivering high quality services in a large complex multi-disciplinary healthcare environment. Leading change in challenging environments Committed to developing a comprehensive understanding of research governance, ethics and clinical trial management. Proven leadership of operational planning and management, including writing complex operational business cases and operational policies
