Research Scientist

The role holder will be a core team member at NanOptima and will play a vital role in supporting the design and development of revolutionary treatments that will improve the standard of care in retinal diseasesMain Duties & Responsbilities· Provide scientific and technical expertise that help progress NanOptima’s business objectives· Support the design and development of NanOptima’s products· Critically analyse and use initiative to solve problems and trouble shoot with the assistance of other members of the team· Progress experimental work focussed on NanOptima’s scientific goals· Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records and documentation to the highest standards· Develop and maintain knowledge of all relevant scientific literature and developments· Contribute to the wider running of the laboratory ensuring the highest standards are maintained· Work safely and responsibility adhering to all rules and proceduresScientific & Technical Knowledge· Masters degree or equivalent experience in life sciences, materials science, chemistry or a related scientific discipline· Practical laboratory experience in an academic or industrial setting (6 months minimum)· Hands on experience with bioanalytical/analytical techniques is desirable such as:o Biologics assay development, optimisation and qualificationo Electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, IEF)o Chromatography (SEC, RP-HPLC, AEX, HILIC)· Knowledge of related scientific disciplines· Develops scientific objectives where appropriateWider Skills & Capabilities· Excellent teamworking and communication skills· Able to work independently where required· Flexible, adaptable and resourceful· Effectively manages own time against project priorities· Acts with urgency and takes smart risks to drive progress forward· Sets high standards for self and othersHow to ApplyPlease provide a CV and covering letter outlining your suitability for the role to ##### applications only – .
