Research Optometrist

Are you an Optometrist with an interest in clinical research? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our research team within the Cambridge Eye Research Centre (CERC) at Cambridge University Hospitals, Addenbrookes Hospital. The Cambridge Eye Research Centre hosts some of the world's leading Ophthalmologists, with expertise in a variety of subspecialty areas of Ophthalmology, and a strong interest in clinical research. With an ever increasing portfolio of clinical trials we require a Research Optometrist to join our experienced multidisciplinary team. You will be responsible for: identifying and approaching potential participants through screening clinics checking eligibility as well as performing a number of ophthalmic clinical assessments, within a supportive clinical environment. This is an excellent opportunity to become involved with national and international cutting edge research involving novel therapies for eye diseases among our patients. A background in clinical trials or research is not necessary as support and training will be provided.Main duties of the job
To collect data and examine patients for a wide range of ophthalmology sub specialty studies including medical retina, glaucoma, corneal and vitreo-retinal research projects
To personally deliver a range of core optometric and extended role clinical services to the highest standards of quality and care to meet the changing needs of the department of ophthalmology. To undertake clinical audit and administrative tasks
