Job Description Summary:Job Description:The Research Coordinator I – Outreach Specialist will be a part of the Patient Engagement Team to conduct engagement, enrollment and retention activities for the All of Us research program. This position will specifically be focused on conducting outreach and engagement activities aimed at enrolling and retaining participants in the All of Us research program. Additionally, the position will occasionally require minimal research activities, such as recruiting participants to serve on the participant and community advisory board, coordinating activities with the research team, and other tasks as assigned.ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PATIENT ENGAGEMENT TEAMBilingual, oral and written (Spanish/English)Utilize effective outreach, engagement and recruitment methods to drive enrollment and retention ratesPrint and distribute outreach and recruitment postcards and mailers and process the responsesIdentify, engage and screen patients for eligibility and enroll them in the All of Us research program and any ancillary studiesProvide patients with a thorough overview of the All of Us research program, or ancillary study and answer all questionsUse the Teach Back Method to assess patients’ understanding of the All of Us research program, or ancillary studyUse of Motivational Interviewing to build rapport with prospective/current patients.Obtain informed consent for IRB approved protocolsAdminister surveys and record dataUse data to assess effectiveness and outcome of outreach and engagement strategiesPerform basic biometrics (e.g. waist circumference, weight, height, heart rate and blood pressure) Assist patients with biospecimen collections and processingSchedule appointments for patients to complete All of Us research program enrollment and retention activitiesConduct phone and in person outreach and engagement activities on a daily basis, with occasional outreach through email or mailings, to inform patients of study activities and schedule patients to complete activities.Raise awareness among patients and the local community about the All of Us research program through various mechanism that include but not limited to attendance in community events, waiting room outreach, educational sessions, distribution of customized marketing productsQUALIFICATIONS Required Skills and EducationAssociates degree or related healthcare certifications (i.e. phlebotomy certification) or 3+ years of relevant work experience Excellent communication skillsAbility to problem solve, maintain priority and focus on assigned tasksAttention to detail and documentationAbility to follow procedures and protocols consistentlyFlexibility in work schedule and willing to travel throughout CTIntermediate level proficiency in Microsoft office and internet related applicationsFamiliar with standard concepts, practices and procedures related to public health research Knowledge of participatory research and working with communityAdaptability to changePatient Relationship Management and community engagement experience is a plusPersonable and outgoing personalityWillingness to engage individuals from a diverse populationRequired
Licenses/Certifications
: Current driver’s licensePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT Must be able to independently travel frequently to health center satellites and participate in recruitment events in the community (Eastern or Western Region)Must be able to clearly communicate verbally and approach patients in waiting areas and common public spaces Must be able to sit for extended periods while working at a computer Must be able to carry laptop and recruitment materials as part of recruitment activitiesWORK SCHEDULE DEMANDSOccasional mornings, evenings and weekends as neededADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONSConfidentiality of business information is a requirement.
