Are you a research professional with a deep understanding of the humanitarian sector? Are you committed to improving humanitarian outcomes with a strongly held belief that research and innovation should be at the centre of efforts to improve humanitarian effectiveness? Could you oversee a portfolio of world-class research and learning products?
The UK Humanitarian Innovation Hub (the Hub) is looking to recruit a highly effective Research and Learning Manager to join our team and steer the Hub’s efforts to bridge research, policy and practice in humanitarian innovation. The role aims to support high-impact innovation processes and lead new research and learning activities designed to improve humanitarian innovation systems and capacity across the humanitarian sector. You will also maintain the overarching monitoring, evaluation, learning and accountability plan (MEAL) for UKHIH. To be successful, you will need strong research skills and a real commitment to achieving and capturing effective outcomes for people affected by crises.
The UK Humanitarian Innovation Hub started in 2021, so we are ideally looking for someone who is experienced in start-ups and feels comfortable in an evolving environment, as the work of the Hub continues to grow and develop. You will have excellent research, project management and communication skills, as well as a strong understanding of the humanitarian innovation sector.

Elrha
and is funded by the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). It is intended to be a convening mechanism to promote collaboration across the UK and provide a more coherent, accessible, and impactful innovation offer from the UK to the international humanitarian community. In doing so, the Hub facilitates a network of UK humanitarian innovators focused on new and improved processes and technologies that will make humanitarian action more effective and efficient.

Salaries and benefits
Jobs are positioned within the salary structure based on evaluation. New employees will usually be appointed at the bottom of the advertised range. However, relevant desired experience a candidate brings to a role may also be taken into account when determining the appointed salary. Elrha is committed to paying staff in a fair and equitable way and will benchmark all salary offers in line with the pay of existing staff.
Elrha also has a comprehensive benefits package including 25 days holiday entitlement which increases year on year, minimum 5% employer pension contribution (3% employee contribution), staff discount scheme, Employee Assistance Programme and life cover.
