Job Description
Cell Line Development Lead
You'll lead cell line development program based in London, focusing on the advancement and improving of cell lines. Collaborating closely with experts in stem cell biology, computational biology, and bioprocess engineering, you'll be instrumental in shaping the future of the company.
As the technical lead in Cell Line Development team, you'll take charge of isolating, engineering, and validating new adipogenic cell lines. Guiding a dedicated and skilled team, your responsibilities will centre on devising and implementing automated workflows for mammalian stem cell engineering.
Key qualifications:
A PhD (or equivalent industry experience) in molecular biology, synthetic biology, mammalian stem cell biology, or a related field.
Minimum two years' experience in mammalian cell line development and genome engineering, preferably in a commercial setting.
Strong expertise in molecular biology techniques, cell line engineering tools, molecular cloning, and genetic construct design.
Proficiency in genome editing techniques, particularly using CRISPR/Cas9 and associated methodologies.
Experience optimising transfection and transduction.
Proven ability in managing projects and coordinating workflows involving cell line development and molecular biology
Willingness to actively engage in laboratory work, dedicating at least half of your time to molecular biology and cell culture activities.
Possess enthusiasm, inquisitiveness, and a proactive attitude.
Excellent team player.
Ideally you'll have experience in some, but not necessarily all, of the following areas:
High-throughput screening using image-based techniques and flow cytometry.
Single-cell cloning and candidate selection from screening in adherent and suspension culture, incorporating high-throughput and automated liquid handling tools
Target validation including phenotypic and functional assays
Analysis of qPCR, NGS/WGS and RNAseq data (bulk and single-cell samples)
Understanding of GMP (or equivalent) regulations concerning cell line development
Mesenchymal stem/stromal cell culture and differentiation
