Navig8 are currently looking for a Research Analyst to contribute insights and analysis of the shipping and oil markets, working on a small, dedicated Research team in London.

The Role:
As a Research Analyst you will be responsible for management of data systems including fleet and trade data, with a purpose of extracting insights that will be fed to senior management via visual analytic tools, presentations, and reports. You will be part of a team that works with multiple divisions within the company, including, but not limited to, Chartering, Projects, Corporate Finance and Vessel Performance.

Key Responsibilities:
Take responsibility for maintaining and developing databases and models covering both the oil and shipping markets
Extracting information and answering questions from large datasets such as trade movements and fleet utilisation from AIS data
Provide regular reports on changes in the oil and shipping markets
Creating visual analytic dashboards for easy analysis of data by superiors
Create material for internal presentations, external investors and pool partners
Education and Experience:
2.1 minimum analytical (STEM, Economics, Business etc) or maritime/oil & energy related degree
1-year minimum experience in an analytical environment, ideally shipping or the oil industry
Skills Required:
Strong critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills
Analytical software/database experience desirable
Experience or a desire to learn how to use programs such as Tableau and Alteryx
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
