The Position – Research Analyst
As part of its continued growth and development Antarctica Asset Management is seeking to employ a highly motivated and talented research analyst (the focus will be generalist in nature with opportunity to get involved across variety of hedge fund strategies including multi strategy, quant, macro, long/short equity, fixed income arb, event driven, etc ) to support its alternative investments effort.
The role is a full time position based in our London office.
Job description
· Take full ownership of several hedge fund names across variety of hedge fund strategies
· Gather and organize funds managers information, attend calls and meetings with managers, maintain peer groups across strategies
· Perform detailed qualitative and quantitative analysis of selected investment opportunities, making recommendations based on your findings
· Perform ongoing reviews and evaluation of existing investments
· Attend Investment Committees, in order to make recommendations and participate in the portfolio decision making process
· Attend hedge fund investment conferences, maintain your sourcing network
· Contribute to client reporting activity
Skills required
· 5 years of experience in a fund selection and research role, preferably with knowledge and network of hedge fund strategies
· Analytical and detail-oriented
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Team player, comfortable working independently within a small team
· Proven ability to build and maintain manager relationships
Desirable skills
· Knowledge of python (experience with research in Jupyter is a plus) and their common libraries (esp. pandas, numpy, scipy and statsmodels)
· Understanding of statistics
· Experience working with timeseries datasets
