Job DescriptionReporting and Innovation Hub Finance DirectorReporting of the RoleThis role reports to Chief Financial OfficerOverview of jobReporting into Global's Chief Financial Officer, the Director of the Finance Reporting and Innovation hub will lead the creation of a new team initially focussed on Record-to-Report activities in Manchester.You will be the driving force behind the successful set-up of the centre and migration of processes from its current location in London and will have ultimate accountability for the delivery of high-quality accounting, close, and control activity in line with accounting policy.You and your team will drive best practice adoption through simplification, standardisation and automation of the Record to Report process, realising efficiency, scalability and effectiveness benefits.
In the medium term, you will also drive the expansion of the Finance Reporting and Innovation Hub as its scope is extended across other Finance processes, and to serve a potentially wider portfolio of businesses.3 best things about the job

Responsibilities of the role
Reporting to the CFO, the Director of the Finance Reporting and Innovation hub will lead a talented team of initially circa 15 heads growing up to circa 45 over the next 24 months with the following key responsibilities:
Support recruitment and establishment of Manchester based Record to Report team.
Leadership of migration of activities from London to Manchester, ensuring that knowledge is transferred with a clear 'handshake', supported by comprehensive standard operating procedures / work instructions.
Directs the accounting teams accountable for delivery of timely, accurate, compliant management and financial accounting.
Adherence to strict month-end reporting timeline to produce key liability calculations, accruals, provisions, trial balances, business P&Ls, balance sheets and cash flows.
Adherence to Group Accounting policy, UK GAAP and other standards as required
Right first-time accounting, with minimal correcting journals.
Robust, disciplined control framework, including balance sheet controls/ reconciliations.
Lead effective relationship & service management with internal customers, to ensure Finance Reporting Hub service is delivered to service level expectations, act as senior point of escalation, and ensure issues are quickly surfaced and resolved.
Drive the efficiency and effectiveness of the Finance Reporting Hub service delivery model, through sponsoring / leading initiatives to simplify, standardise and automate processes, working alongside the business, commercial finance, group finance and IT as needed.
Maintains a continuous improvement environment by setting performance goals, monitoring progress, and taking corrective action when required.
Ensure effective governance in place over master data management, in relation to creation and deletion of cost centres, accounts etc.
Manages the Finance Reporting Hub cost centre, in relation to cost management, planning and forecasting.
What you will needThe ideal candidate will be proactive and willing to develop and implement innovative solutions, capable of the following:
Qualified accountant (ICAEW or CIMA)
Minimum 8 years' (approx.) post qualification experience in a similar or related role
Proven shared service leader with migration experience
Customer service orientation
Ability to work as part of virtual multi-location team
Ability to shape, motivate, manage and develop a high performing, ambitious team
Excellent communication and cross functional stakeholder management skills.
Good knowledge of systems architectures, integrations, information and data management
Finance transformation project leadership and management skills and experience.
