MRC Doctoral Training Partnership
The aim of this new Doctoral Training Partnership, funded by the MRC (Medical Research Council), is to produce information science literate experimental scientists equipped to work in a team science environment. The three embedded themes of the DTP (Genome Stability and DNA Damage Response; Advanced Therapeutics; Radiation Oncology and Biology) each address current
challenges
in cancer and through these, the DTP will provide training opportunities which lay the groundwork for students to succeed in medical
research
careers. The training will ensure that all students master the fundamentals in
each
of the themes alongside extensive computational training as well as developing core and transferable skills. In order to achieve this the first year of study incorporates a taught element for one day a week, with cohort activities embedded throughout the degree programme.
