In turn we will provide you with a friendly and supportive team as well as a full induction programme and an individual personal development plan to guide your career within your chosen role.We champion staff in academic learning, supported by proactive educational teams throughout the UHB, enabling staff to maximise their potential in providing safe and effective care.New staff will receive a supernumerary period to help you adapt to your new ward and role as a registered nurse on East 8.Informal discussions/visits are invitedMain duties of the jobDeliver high standards of care to patients and be responsible for a patient for which you have been allocated. Care will be in keeping with the philosophies and operational policies of the Health Board. Act in such a manner to safeguard the interest of patients in your care. Follow the nursing process of assess, plan, implement and evaluate programme of care for patients considering their physical psychological, social and spiritual needs. To escalate concerns about a patient's condition/deterioration to the most appropriate professional. Be aware of the legal requirement concerning the prescribing, control, security and administration of medication. Ability to delegate tasks to a range of staff. Awareness of Deprivation of Liberty safeguards, Mental Capacity Act and Mental Health Act and the ability to raise safeguarding concerns as appropriate. Ability to complete observations of patients in your care and ability to recognise deterioration.
