Registered Nurse – Cath Lab – Training Position| MaidstonePart Time Permanent | Competitive Salary in line with Agenda for Change.Are you a registered nurse with an interest in Interventional Cardiology? Do you want to develop your career your way?Due to a growth in service, we have avery rare and exciting opportunityfor an enthusiastic Registered Nurse with an interest in interventional Cardiology to jointhe only Private and Self Pay Cardiac Catheter Laboratory in Kentas a trainee Cardiac Cath Lab Staff Nurse.You will be fully trained in the pre-assessment of Cath Lab patients, processing the admission and recovery of patients, and scrubbing and running for procedures.This role is ideally suited to a Registered Nurse with post registration experience and a desire to develop specialist skills and gain expert cardiac knowledge incoronary angiograms, PCI, Pacing and EP Studies.Your working hours will be28.5 Hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8am – 4pm, 9am – 5pm, 10am – 6pm or 11am – 7pm on a rota basis.Role Responsibilities include:Providing care and support to patients throughout their pathway with KIMS Hospital including pre-operative assessment right through to dischargeScrub for a case load of patients undergoing cardiac procedures including catheterisation, pacing and ICD fittingEnsure the patient experience and well-being remain at the heart of the business at all times and best practices are implemented and maintained within the Cardiac Cath LabAssist the cardiac technicians and radiographers as necessary in placing ECG electrodes, setting up transducers and preparing equipment ready for proceduresDay to day duties of a cardiac nurse including taking bloods, cannulation, performing angiograms, pacing’s as well as assessing and monitoring patientsPerson Specification:Be a Registered NurseBe fully trained in resuscitation and have the ability to handle emergencies appropriatelyHave experience in cannulation, venepuncture and carrying out ECG’sHave experience working in a Cath LabHave demonstrable knowledge of current nursing and clinical developments.KIMS Hospital is the largest independent hospital in Kent and we care about our staff.
