Job title: Registered Children Nurse

Location: Mid Essex Special Schools - Chelmsford, Braintree, Witham

Hours: 34 hours per week, Monday to Friday term time

Rates: £30 - £40 per hour

To co-ordinate and deliver an efficient and effective nursing service to meet the complex health needs of pupils attending the identified schools. To provide clinical expertise and high quality education, training & assessment of competence to identified staff/ carers. This competency-based training will enable staff and carers to undertake specialist healthcare tasks for individual children/ young people to meet their specific healthcare needs in the school setting

Skills required-

Knowledge and understanding of working with children with disabilities and complex health needs. Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills. Ability to deliver presentations. Able to work autonomously. Exceptional organisational and time management skills. Ability to travel by car between sites

Working pattern-

34 hours per week, Monday to Friday term time

Remote working-

One admin day a week remote working

Additional information-

Experience in teaching specialist health skills ie. administration of epilepsy rescue medication, oxygen, suction, enteral feeding, anaphylaxis would be useful. Also experience in writing health care plans and the ability to use Excel in order to maintain our current training records

The role will be commencing on the ASAP and will be ongoing.
