Our client is and established food service company who supply into;

They are looking to appoint a experienced 'foodie' Sales Manager/BDM to cover North Wales. The role is primarily field based but there will be a requirement to attend the office 1-2 days a week. - If over night stay is required, this is funded by the company. Example: Travel to office on a Monday morning, work in office, stay over Monday night, office half day Tuesday, travel back.

The overall purpose of the role is to develop and implement an effective Sales and Business Development Strategy to drive short-, medium- and long-term profitable sales growth, effective leadership and direction for the Sales Team.

The perfect candidate will have experience in food industry and account management with specific focus on NPD. Experience in food service, HoReCa and/or wholesale food channels and creative thinking with a full understanding of account P&Ls.
Main Responsibilities:

  • To manage and develop strong relationships with new and existing customers at all levels, including commercial, marketing, product development, technical and supply chain.
  • To identify opportunities to grow our current business and enhance profitability.
  • To identify and deliver new profitable business from new channels and new customers (e.g. Food Service, Wholesaler and Online sectors).
  • To develop and maintain comprehensive new opportunity prospects on a weekly basis.
  • 5. To use market data to improve the performance of current products and identify new product opportunities.
  • To develop new products that meet the capabilities of the factory and our strategic business objectives.
  • To negotiate and implement selling prices, promotional plans, price increases and marketing activity.
  • To ensure strategic account development plans are in place to meet joint objectives, joint business plans and KPIs.
  • To set weekly, monthly and annual forecasts for each customer based on historical performance and realistic growth opportunity targets.
  • To monitor sales performance against each customer budget, identifying major variances to plan and taking corrective action as required
  • To deliver new product launches, promotional and marketing activity on time and within budget.
  • To prepare professional business review presentations ensuring periodic review meetings are conducted with each account.
  • To complete meeting reports for each customer and ensure all agreed action points are delivered in full and on time.
  • To be aware of customers' credit limits and the status of their accounts at all times; taking personal responsibility not to expose the company to unnecessary debt and risk.
  • To provide administrative support ensuring that the business is managed efficiently and effectively
