Although you will be part of a team you this role is standalone therefore you need to be motivated and work well by yourself. You will need to have or be working towards a Diploma NEBOSH.Role Responsibilities:Carrying out and completing risk assessments (Process, Workplace Transport, COSHH, Manual Handling , PUWER etc)Developing and implementing all Health and Safety associated policies and procedures, amending and updating as requiredEnsuring the Health and Safety policies and procedures are adopted by the business and its various operations as appropriate.Ensuring Depots adopt appropriate Health and Safety targets and standards for their own areas of responsibility in the control of loss and operation of best safety practiceAssisting and supporting sites, reviewing the standard of accident investigationsAttending Health and Safety MeetingsDelivering Health and Safety TrainingDeveloping Health and Safety presentationsMonitoring and auditing safety performance in regards to:Internal safety systemsStatutory requirementsIndustry benchmark standards UKIndustry benchmark standards EuropeanDeveloping and maintaining effective working relationships with appropriate representatives of the HSE / LA and any other appropriate external bodiesAssessing the competence of external contractors and maintaining any approved contractor listingCompiling written briefs to update the business on changes to legislation, codes of practice, industry best practice or other sources.QualificationsA minimum of 5 years experience in an operationally facing H&S RolePrevious experience of Health & Safety within industry, ideally transport and logistics but not essentialKnowledge / experience of DTAS would be an advantage but not essentialExcellent organisational and communication skillsComputer literate with a good understanding of MS office applicationsAble to work to tight deadlines and manage own time effectivelyFull UK driving licence, willing to travel as required within the UKThorough understanding of current Health & Safety Legislation and its implementation within the workplaceNEBOSH Certificate minimum, Diploma / Degree desirableMember of IOSHAdditional InformationWhat you get in return:Competitive basic salaryCompetitive holidaysBonusCar AllowancePrivate health careLife assurancePension SchemeRetail discountsThis is a fantastic opportunity to join a personable and growing business with plenty of opportunities and a great team.If you meet the criteria above and are interested in and use to working in a fast paced organisation then click apply now and  #joinourwinningteam!
