Job Title: Interim Regeneration Service Manager (Local Authority)

Location: South Yorkshire, Hybrid

Duration: Interim, 3-months ongoing

Pay: Inside IR35, �(Apply online only) per day

As the Regeneration Service Manager, you will be a senior strategic leader within the Capital Delivery Service, operating within the Regeneration division of the Investment & Development Office. You will oversee the delivery of the entire Regeneration Programme, providing direction and leadership to a team of project management professionals. Your role will be pivotal in driving inclusive economic growth through the successful execution of complex capital and revenue projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take strategic responsibility for the delivery of a comprehensive Regeneration Programme, encompassing both capital and revenue projects.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the project management team, ensuring alignment with the overarching goals of inclusive economic growth.
  • Manage significant and complex capital and revenue projects within the economic development environment.
  • Effectively manage budgets for a range of regeneration projects, ensuring financial resources are allocated optimally.
  • Produce high-quality reports and communications, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and appropriateness.
  • Lead negotiations and procurement processes related to land, property, and regeneration initiatives.
  • Represent the Regeneration service and projects at a senior level to external stakeholders, Members, and senior managers.
  • Foster positive relationships with stakeholders, partners, and multi-agency collaborators to drive project success.
  • Deputise for the Head of Service as required, demonstrating leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Navigate Local Government democratic processes and understand the political context influencing project delivery.

Shortlisting and Interview Criteria

  • Substantial experience managing significant and complex capital and revenue projects in an economic development environment.
  • Proven track record as a senior project lead delivering large, complex capital projects and programs.
  • Successful budget management in diverse and complex regeneration projects.
  • Ability to produce high-quality, accurate reports and communications.
  • Experience in negotiations and procurement related to land, property, and regeneration.
  • Strong representation skills at a senior level to external stakeholders, Members, and senior managers.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders, partners, and multi-agency teams.
  • Capacity to deputise for the Head of Service when necessary.
  • Experience in supporting, managing, and developing teams within a similar service delivery environment.
  • Understanding of current Local Government democratic processes and their impact on project delivery.
