Job description Full Time, Fixed Term until February 2026
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Project Manager with a passion for placemaking to join our progressive, multi-disciplinary Regeneration Team to work on the Bedminster Green regeneration programme that will deliver transformational change in the city.
Join us and support the delivery of new homes, jobs, local employment opportunities and strategic infrastructure projects that will support delivery of Bristol City Council's strategy to make Bristol a carbon neutral city by 2030.
What will I be doing?
This role will be focussed on supporting Bristol City Council deliver inclusive, sustainable growth and harness the benefits of growth to achieve local objectives and improve quality of life for residents.
You will work with councillors, cross-departmentally with council officers, external funders, developers, communities, landowners and partners on a number of high-profile and complex regeneration projects to co-ordinate and drive forward their delivery.
You will be collaborating with a range of stakeholders to oversee the regeneration of five brownfield sites to deliver over 2,000 new homes (including student accommodation and affordable homes), alongside strategic infrastructure projects to improve sustainable transport connections and public realm, deliver flood mitigation measures and install a district heat network. Alongside this, you will be working to deliver on social value objectives and ensuring the local community are benefitting from the regeneration.

What do I need?
A passion for placemaking and creating great places people aspire to live, work and visit.
A commitment to partnership working with the local community to deliver priority projects and ensure the existing community sees and feels the benefits of regeneration.
Experience in a relevant field such as housing, regeneration or capital/infrastructure.
Exceptional stakeholder management skills and a proven track record of successful partnership working to deliver projects, with excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex information concisely and to a variety of audiences.
Along with good budget and people management skills and experience, you'll be fluent in programme management tools and methodologies, with the ability to understand and manage interdependencies between projects and support the overall governance of the regeneration programme.
Experience of procurement and managing consultant teams.
Experience of writing funding bids and reporting to grant funders.

For employees who are currently on a fixed term contract with Bristol City Council, the secondment must not extend beyond the end of the fixed term period to ensure there is a substantive post to return to.
