Refinery Nurse

Schedule: Monday and Wednesday 07:45-16:45 - 17h/week in total

Our client runs one of Western Europe’s largest and most complex refineries, with a total throughput capacity of 270,000 barrels per day. We currently have the opportunity to recruit a Refinery Nurse based at Pembroke.

The Medical Centre has a multi functional role within the Refinery, the most important being the care and welfare of Pembroke Refinery’s workforce. The focus of the Refinery Nurse role is to promote and advise on all occupational health issues as well as the provision of medical expertise in the assessment and treatment of accident or illness.

This is a part time role, covering Monday and Wednesday administered through our preferred service provider, 17 hours per week plus holiday cover, the basis of which is to carry out annual medical testing, pre-employment screening and fitness for duty medicals together with the administration of the Company Substance Abuse Policy. Active participation in case management is a core element of the role.

You will maintain a medical records system and database and will work with the full time Occupational Health Adviser to ensure compliance with statutory and Company requirements.

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will possess excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, must be able to plan their own workload and have the proven ability to meet deadlines. The ability to identify and resolve problems with a high degree of accuracy is essential to the role.

The ideal candidate will possess a relevant nursing qualification and will have no less than three years Accident and Emergency or Practice nurse experience. Experience in a similar role would be advantageous and possession of an Occupational Health qualification would be beneficial.
