Reporting to: Headteachers PA, Director of Resources, Headteacher


Responsible for: The smooth functioning  and the provision of a full, successful and supported learning experience for students.


Liaising with: Headteachers PA, Director of Resources, Headteacher


Working Time: Term time only (38 weeks) 37 hours per week Monday to Thursday 8.30am - 4.30pm, Friday 8.30am – 4.00pm (including 30 minutes unpaid for lunch)


Contract details: Temporary


Salary/Grade: Equivalent to NJC Grade 3 SCP 4 – 6, £23,114 - £23,893 with a starting hourly rate of £11.98


Generic Duties


• To promote the aims of the school plan.


• To promote  smooth and effective functioning.


• To participate in appropriate meetings.


• To celebrate and encourage the achievements of the students.


• To promote good order and discipline in school.


• To liaise with colleagues where appropriate.


• To take part in in-service training and performance management.


• To promote a pleasant learning environment in school.


• To follow the procedures and instructions of the LA and the Governing Body.


• To work at the reasonable direction of the Headteacher.


Key Tasks


• Undertaking reception duties; welcoming all visitors to the school and informing staff of the arrival of visitors, escorting visitors to locations throughout the school as required.


• Dealing with enquiries from pupils, staff, parents, governors, visitors, contractors, and outside agencies.


• Answering the telephone, dealing with enquiries and providing an efficient messaging service for staff.


• Contributing to the co-ordination of all parcel deliveries and ensuring prompt dispatch to departments.


• Recording and franking of all outgoing mail and completion of relevant documentation with particular regard to examination scripts and coursework.


• Organising Parcel force collections.


• Sorting and distribution of incoming mail and internal messages.


• Contributes to school safeguarding procedures.


• To undertake appropriate training, commensurate to the responsibilities of the grade, including in ICT.
