R&D Tax Engineer - Manager

You will have the opportunity to apply your technical knowledge across a wide range of industries and help companies identify the activities that qualify as R&D for these incentives. R&D for tax purposes can involve activities from basic research, through to early stage new product & process development, industrial scale trials and ongoing process improvement activity across all areas of engineering and manufacturing.Your opportunityYour role as a Manager, you will be in a client-facing role from Day One, conducting technical interviews and preparing documentation to support R&D tax claims. You will be working with senior technical and finance staff within our client companies where you will need to understand the nature of the work being performed and prepare high quality documentation to explain how projects meet the definition of R&D.Your responsibilities will include:Analysing technical data and documentation from clients to support the planning and development of R&D claim methodologiesCoordinating and leading efficient technical interviews with the client to advise on R&D tax reliefAdvising our clients through the R&D assessment process to support them determine qualifying activities and costs, whilst capturing robust technical information that satisfies specific HMRC reporting requirementsDeveloping supporting technical documentation summarising the output from the interviews suitable for non-technical audiencesWorking within a project team to ensure that the appropriate costs linked to the technical activity are captured within the R&D claimsDrafting reports for submission to HMRC to explain how our clients R&D claims have been preparedProviding technical input into marketing and sales activity based on your area of engineering or scientific knowledge and experienceManging a large diverse portfolio of clients with competing priorities to meet multiple deadlinesWorking effectively in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contributionYour skills and professional experienceBe trained to degree level in an Engineering discipline (or equivalent)Industry experience in an engineering role is desirableBe a strong communicator, with good interpersonal awareness skillsBe able to work within multi-disciplinary teams, taking responsibility for the technical aspects of R&D claims on behalf of manufacturing and engineering companies, as well as generating high quality technical reportsBe well-organised, able to manage multiple projects and handle conflicting demands in a timely mannerTo discuss this opportunity further please contact Maisie on07855746366 R&D Tax - Engineer, Manager level LondonThe UK government provides tax incentives to businesses performing R&D.
