I am currently working with one of the leading residential developers in Devon who are looking to appoint a surveyor to oversee and manage a number of projects across the region.
You will be a super ambitious and motivated quantity surveyor who has worked for another leading house building or residential main contractor. You will be degree qualified and of director calibre as the client has a keen eye for internal career development and succession planning.
The region has been very successful over the past 2 years and continues to outperform the market even in the current climate
They are looking for a quantity surveyor to take the step up or an experienced senior quantity surveyor who is looking for their next challenge to oversee this flagship project of nearly 500 units.
You will influence site budgets, liaise with suppliers and make key decisions regarding the procurement of labour and materials. Collaboration is also key to the success of this role. You will work very closely with the commercial director and shall have further assistance from a graduate/assistant quantity surveyor. It is important you have a keen eye for detail, can forecast costs, and enjoy negotiating with suppliers. It is a unique blend of skills required but a very rewarding role.

Expected experiences
Degree qualified
3-5 years minimum experience as quantity surveyor
Experience of working for a house builder or residential main contractor
Demonstratable background of clear and concise cost control and budgeting responsibility
Dealing with subcontractor and ideally managing the purchasing agreements
Experience of cost value reconciliation, variation and negotiating contracts
Determined, hungry and ambitious.
Ability to work autonomously and independently from the rest of the team.
