They're looking for a Quantity surveyor to join their Highway maintenance and Groundworks projects in the Northwest. Offering a base salary of �40,000-�50,000 p/a + �5000 car allowance and Hybrid working patterns!

Fawkes & Reece are very excited to be working with this award winning nation wide civil engineering contractor that made record turn over last year of over �60 million. We're looking for an experienced Quantity surveyor to join their 10 specialist strong commercial team in their Preston project office (PR5 postcode).

Reporting to the managing Quantity Surveyor, you will be commercially involved in numerous civil engineering projects - with their primary remit being Highway maintenance. They've just won a huge amount of work, that includes over 30 infrastructure projects, making it an excellent contractor to join today!

Will also consider Assistant level Quantity Surveyor.

Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities

  • Costing: Accurately pricing the costs of materials, labour and equipment required for each project and submitting quotations for works. Ensuring scheme costs are correct on the system and raising queries where necessary.
  • Tender Preparation: Preparing and reviewing tender documents
  • Supplier and Subcontractor relations: Liaise with operational staff, including clients and subcontractors. Attending internal / external meetings when necessary and fostering good relationships. Manage the subcontract supply chain, issuing orders and the processing of payments.
  • Contract Management: Administering contracts and variations ensuring compliance. Manage contractual communication through CEMAR.
  • Cost Control: Implementing effective cost control measure to optimise project outcomes.
  • Project Reporting: Regular reporting on financial progress, potential risks and cost saving opportunities to management.
  • Budget Management: Collaborating with Project Managers to establish and maintain budgets throughout the project life cycle.

Whats on Offer

  • Hybrid working 2 days per week (following 3 month probation)
