Quantity Surveyor (Utilities / Infrastructure) - Exeter

Thatcher Associates are assisting a Devon based construction company with the appointment of a Quantity Surveyor who can commercially and contractually manage a number of projects from tender to final account.

The Company

Working in the Infrastructure / Utilities sectors, this multimillion pound turnover construction company oversees the installation of infrastructure for forthcoming renewable energy developments. Typical projects encompass access roads, small bridges and culverts, foundations, RC structures and ductwork.

The Role

Working as an integral part of the commercial management team, responsibilities will include:

• Subcontract procurement and commercial management; preparing enquiry documentation, agreeing packages of works, costs and contractual conditions. Agreeing monthly valuations and subcontract final accounts.


• Main Contract commercial management; Negotiating and agreeing applications for payment and final accounts. Complying with the clients contract.


• Managing the commercial aspects of a change register, managing change control procedures, identifying and pricing variations, agreeing additional costs with both clients and supply chain.


• Reporting; Production of monthly CVRs, cashflow forecasting etc.


• Provide the site teams with commercial and contractual support.
