This is an opportunity for a driven Quantity Surveyor to join a well known specialist main contractor working on a �150m industrial project under a Senior QS.

About the role of Quantity Surveyor

Your role as Quantity Surveyor will be to work as part of a commercial team on a �150m industrial project based in the Northampton area. You will be working as the no 2 on site and on packages from procurement to final accounting as the project is in the very early procurement stages. With opportunity to work in the team and gain good exposure to the Quantity Surveying role including client side management as you progress your own career. You will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Issue sub-contract tender packages and undertake contractual evaluation of the tender.
  • Manage established list of supply chain sub-contractors.
  • Assess contract risk and work with the site team to develop and manage mitigation plans.
  • Attend internal and external commercial review meetings.

Requirements:

The company are looking for a candidate with experience working on new build construction projects and who has knowledge managing packages ideally with both JCT and NEC contract experience. You will be responsible for packages from procurement. The ideal candidate is someone who is a motivated and keen to join a business with excellent training and progression on offer and where you can learn from experienced staff and who ideally has the following:

  • Degree in a construction related subject
  • Minimum of 4 years experience with another main contractor
  • JCT D&B contract knowledge
  • Competent with Excel

The company:

The company are a well known Main Contractor who have an excellent reputation within the shed building sector. In this role you will be based in a team on site with an initial project in Northampton. The company and in a secure financial position, and have recently secured a flurry of new projects and have a lot in tender with pipeline increasing for 2025. Long term you will be working on projects across the northern home counties and East Midlands so willing to travel to sites.
