Are you an experienced and driven Quantity Surveyor seeking an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact?

Our client a dynamic and rapidly expanding multimillion pound construction company, who have experience within education, local government, housing associations, retail and energy sectors.

They are now on the hunt for a talented Quantity Surveyor to join their dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all cost-related aspects of construction projects, from initial estimates to final evaluations, ensuring projects are completed within budgetary constraints.
  • Manage the procurement process, including sourcing materials and subcontractors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential cost overruns or delays and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Collaborate with design and construction teams to optimize project costs while maintaining quality standards, through value engineering initiatives.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including cost forecasts, cash flow projections, and variance analyses, to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Administer contracts, including reviewing contract documents, assessing contractor claims, and resolving disputes to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within the construction industry, demonstrating a strong track record of successful project delivery.
  • Proficiency in cost estimation, quantity take-off, and cost management software is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to interpret complex data and formulate actionable insights.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy, coupled with the ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams to achieve common goals.
