An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established Construction company in Barking, East London.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost control and possess the necessary qualifications to excel as a Quantity Surveyor. If you are detail-oriented, analytical, and have a passion for construction, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.About the roleAs a Quantity Surveyor you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful completion of construction projects by providing accurate cost estimates, monitoring project costs, and ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints. Duties will include:
Prepare cost estimates and budgets for construction projectsConduct feasibility studies and analyse project specificationsCollaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to gather project informationReview and evaluate contractor bids and proposalsMonitor project costs and ensure adherence to budgetary constraintsConduct site visits to assess progress and verify quantities of materials usedPrepare reports and documentation related to cost control and project progressWork alongside the commercial admin to ensure finances are up to date
About the rewardsFor the role of Quantity Surveyor there is on offer:
A salary of £50,475 to £54,550 per annum, depending on experiencePerformance Bonus
About youTo be successful for the role of Quantity Surveyor, you must have / be:
Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related fieldProven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or similar roleStrong knowledge of construction methods, materials and regulationsProficient in using cost estimation software and toolsExcellent mathematical and analytical skillsStrong attention to detail and accuracyEffective communication and negotiation skillsBe able to create and build quotes from a subcontractor point of viewHave extensive knowledge of NHF rates and building quotes from scratchExtensive on-site knowledge of general constructionExperience of working NHF rates
About the CompanyWith a combined experience spanning over 50 years, the company has been open for over 10 years, managing and completing projects inside London and the M25 for a variety of clients including housing associations and London councils. Projects undertaken include internal/external refurbishments and maintenance to new builds.
