Quantity Surveyor - Industrial Sector, ConstructionSalary: Open depending on experience: £35,000 - £65,000 plus packageWork from home 2-3x per week!CRG have partnered with a Main Contractor who specialise within the Industrial and Logistics sector, with a primary focus on the Food Manufacturing industry. Utilising cutting-edge technologies such as VR, our Client foster close collaboration with clients from initial engagement through to project completion and beyond, ensuring robust and enduring relationships. Their commitment to excellence and innovation drives their projects nationwide, with a remote working culture complemented by occasional site visits as necessary.As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in managing the commercial and financial aspects of projects and contracts. Your expertise will contribute to the successful and timely delivery of projects within budget constraints while ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction. Collaborating closely with the Project Manager, you will provide essential support to drive project success.Key Responsibilities:
* Efficiently manage resources and oversee the production and issuance of supplier purchase orders. Track procurement activities and manage supplier engagements.
* Prepare and send enquiries to subcontractors for tendering purposes. Analyze quotations and engage with the site team to evaluate price, programme, and availability. Notify successful and unsuccessful subcontractors promptly. Produce and process formal subcontract documents and manage interim and final payments.
* Produce bill of quantity/activity schedules for payment purposes. Generate cash flow forecasts for internal and client use. Monitor and control income and expenditure on contracts, including applications for payment and final accounts.
* Generate monthly reports for the Commercial Manager, including cost and value comparisons and turnover forecasts. Attend financial and progress meetings with clients and subcontractors. Provide advice and support to optimize contract resources.
* Collaborate with the site team to ensure effective use of contract resources. Support the Commercial Manager with data input tasks.
* Provide feedback to Estimators and Directors on contract pricing and projected profit/loss.
* Accurate monthly forecasting.Essential Skills:
* Proficiency in various IT packages, including Microsoft Office and bespoke software such as Bluebeam.
* Exceptional relationship-building skills.
* Self-motivated and proactive attitude.
* Strong commercial awareness and understanding of the construction process.
* Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
* Effective negotiation skills, internally, externally, and with supply chain partners.
* Positive attitude and ability to integrate seamlessly into the construction team.
* Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
* Eagerness to pursue personal development and maintain up-to-date knowledge.Desirable Qualifications/Certifications:
* Degree qualification or equivalent experience and knowledge.
* CSCS card.
* First Aid certification.
* Fire Marshall certification.
* SMSTS or SSSTS certification
