Title: Quantity SurveyorFunction: CommercialLocation: Taplow, Slough, SL6Salary: £55,00 -£65,000Position Type: PermanentJob Purpose:To be responsible for the commercial and surveying function on a development, to facilitate delivery and cost-effective completion of the scheme. Our commercial property, which includes convenience retail, high-quality food & beverage outlets, modern offices and leisure space, is closely aligned to the requirements of both our residents and the wider community.Responsibilities and Accountabilities:· Preparation of reports as required· Identifying risks and opportunities· Understanding the approved Budget and package breakdowns· Liaising with the technical team and design consultants so as to ensure design concepts and proposals are developed in line with the approved budgets and procurement tracker· Monitoring changes so as to continuously identify the status of costs· Liaising with all members of the project team, including but not limited to construction, technical, sales, finance, customer service and estate management colleagues.· To establish subcontract sources early in the programme so that they can contribute to the design in terms of value engineering and alternative solutions (early supply chain engagement)· Preparing scope of works and trade packages· Preparing selected tender list for approval· Subcontract tendering· Holding and taking minutes of Subcontract Post-Tender and Pre-Order Meetings· Preparing subcontract documentation· Raising subcontractor payments and ensuring associated notices and documentation are issued in a timely manner· Sending agreed number of copies of all Contract Drawings and any revised drawings as issued to subcontractors· Forecasting value of design variations· Countersigning site instructions· Producing subcontractor instruction/variation reports· Fully completing monthly cost reports for approvalPerson Specification:Please note our standard working hours are 7:30am until 4.30pm Monday to Friday.Minimum Level of Education/Qualifications and Experience:Essential: Quantity Surveying or Construction degree level educated with 2+ years industry experienceAll required training will be provided.Other requirements:Essential:· Proactive, self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook· An effective leader, motivator and mentor· Credible, and comfortable in dealing with a wide variety of stakeholders· Reliable, tolerant, and determined· Team player· Empathic communicator, able to see things from the other person's point of view· Well-presented and business likeIf this role is suitable for you please apply and send your CV to Jamie @ huntermasonconsutling. com
