This could be you!!The role is best suited to Quantity Surveyor Graduates who are looking to support various exciting projects across the country and who want to work towards autonomously managing their own project(s) in the future. Quantity Surveyors have an interest in numbers (cost and value) as well as contracts and therefore analytical skills and the ability to write compelling reports will be of benefit. Most importantly however is the ability to engage with different people as the role will require you to interface with site staff, clients and Executives. And on top of your salary, you will also have access to a generous benefits package, which includes the following:Travel expenses to locations outside of your contracted locationPerkbox giving you 24/7 access to perks, benefits, discounts, and wellbeing tools.3 x Life Assurance covered under the VVB Group Life Assurance scheme.Private Medical Insurance scheme, provided by BUPA, inclusive of an online private GP.Pension scheme (4% ER and 5% EE)25 days holiday + bank holidays (3-4 to be used for Christmas shut down)This is a Graduate Trainee Programme, where you can look forward to:A work-based learning programme designed to provide you with maximum exposure to our business and the wider infrastructure industry.Getting involved in a range of projects and initiatives on top of your everyday role, giving you the chance to develop at a fast pace.Exposure to our Executive Leadership Team and a unique opportunity to learn from colleagues leading our business.Building your professional network working with colleagues from across the infrastructure industryKey Responsibilities Include:Management of costs on the project including understanding budgets, performance against the budget, identifying variances in actual cost vs budget and supporting the project team with any action plans in managing our cost.Maximisation of value through an understanding of what constitutes a variation under the contract and assisting with thenegotiation of any variations with the client.Develop an understanding of the key provisions within the terms of the contract and assist the project team in ensuring we undertake our work in accordance with the contract.Input and ownership of the notice tracker and other Commercial reports ensuring deadlines are notified to the Commercial Team.Assist the Commercial Project Team with both Supplier and Subcontract management including the assessment of Works Done to Date for certification of applications for payment and control/reporting of costs against budget.Assist the Project Commercial Team with identification and pricing of variations and changes to the Contract Works and requirements.Contribute to regular and accurate reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor and/or Commercial Manager on/for: PHR/CVR/Cash Flow/Weekly Updates etc.Inputting commercial data into the project budget and assisting in the provision of regular commercial forecasts.Assist in and carry out valuations for the purpose of initial, interim and final payment applications.Work with the Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Team to maximise the recovery of all contractual entitlements.VVB values the benefits of a diverse workforce and is committed to treating all prospective and current employees with dignity regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnerships, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion, or belief, sex, or sexual orientation.
