Location: Sandwich, Kent

Type: Permanent - Full time
Salary: Competitive DOE
Hours: Week 1: Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 16:45, Friday off
Week 2: Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 16:45, Friday 08:00 - 16:30

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Quality Technician to join our client's manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing first off and/or in-process inspections, creating dimensional reports for new or modified components, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. The Quality Technician will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality of high standard products and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform first off and/or in-process inspection, including creating dimensional reports for new or modified components.

- Ensure dimensional reports or First Article Inspection (FAI) packages are completed and filed correctly.

- Operate Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) using established programs or techniques to support inspection of components, including creating programs using Aberlink software if required.

- Manage stock in and out of the inspection process, including rejecting items that do not meet quality standards.

- Monitor calibration system and ensure equipment is continually calibrated to schedule.

- Resolve quality issues through structured problem-solving and root cause analysis techniques.

- Conduct internal product and system audits and perform duties as an internal auditor.

- Support supplier quality engineer or inspection during busy periods or times of absence.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Proven experience in quality control or inspection within a manufacturing environment.

- Proficiency in operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and Aberlink software.

- Strong understanding of quality standards and inspection techniques.

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.

- Strong communication and teamwork skills.

- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.

- Hold NVQ/HNC/HND (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline.

- Possess ISO 9001 or AS9100 internal auditor certification.
