Job Description

Acting as part of a hands on Technical team, you will be responsible for the day to day supervision of the site based QA team and the administration of the site based QA team. Ensuring product is produced to high quality standards and within safety and legality requirements.

Main duties

  • Co-ordinating and informing departments of changes to Quality Policy or Procedures;
  • Completion and review of process control sheets relating to quality and food safety. To liaise with management regarding proper implementation, and to generate daily pallet on hold information;
  • Investigate product quality problems relating to ingredients, finished products and waste, analysing the root cause of problems and seeking improvements to reduce problem issues;
  • To create and update in-house specifications as required;
  • Issue control of specifications, work instructions and operating procedures;
  • To assist during audits and traceability audits to ensure documentation is available and accurate;
  • Support the Technical team to ensure accurate test requests and records are kept using an external test laboratory;
  • To prepare all product samples, swabs, water samples etc. to a set sampling plan and ensure they are sent to the laboratory in a timely manner, ensuring samples are retained as a back-up sample in case out of spec results being confirmed by the laboratory and all samples are registered on the system;
  • To assist in the monitoring & policing of allergen control from intake to despatch;
  • To assist the Technical Manager in monthly traceability through collation of all relevant documentation;
  • To collate technical reports, KPI reports as requested by the Technical department/retailers;
  • To assist during audits and traceability audits to ensure documentation is available and accurate;
  • Investigate and provide a response to customer complaints;
  • Conduct traceability and mass balance exercises when required;
  • Ensure that all team members pursue safe working practices and all accident and reporting procedures;
  • Ensure you promote a culture of high hygiene standards and that all team members maintain it;
  • To support the technical plan of brining systems up to date to allow ease of completion by operative;
  • Complete internal audits, as well as plan and schedule internal audits to train personnel on site.
