Our client, based in Bolton, is a leading supplier to the Aerospace Industry.
They have a permanent vacancy for an experienced Quality Inspector.
Job description
Ensure that all inspection activities within the site are carried out to process.
Provide technical support and liaison between quality, engineering and production departments.
Verify that only approved parts and materials have been used; check batch card against material certificates located in Final View or Purchasing Department
Ensure processes are carried out correctly in particular using batch card disciplines, NCR process and use of calibrated equipment
Ensure issue of drawings and specifications conforms to the batch card.
All drawing and CMM inspection requirements are satisfied
Identification marks are legible and conform to the drawing requirements
Be an authorised stamp holder.
Ensure priority lists are worked too to satisfy production/customer deadlines.
Ensure an effective handover is carried out at the beginning / end of each shift, assuring that good Quality related information is communicated
Maintain working relationships with colleagues by adopting suitable behaviour and setting high personal standards, which assist to persuade and promote performance from all the team
Utilize safety practices and procedures following established company safety rules and regulations to maintain safe, 5s and clean work area.
Essential Competencies:
Understanding of Engineering Drawings (metric and Imperial)
Understanding of inspection measuring, CMM and manual equipment within an engineering environment.
Understanding of the general requirements of AS9100.
Ability to communicate at all levels on task and process related issues.
Demonstrates working knowledge and technical competence in inspection of manufactured components, preferably in Aerospace.
Have knowledge of CMM machines and inspection
Strong understanding for interpreting drawings, standards and specifications within the department.

36 hours per week rotating 2 week shift

Pay:
Basic: £15.43 per hour.
Plus Shift allowance £79.73 per week.
