Our Hereford based client is seeking a Quality & Environmental Manager to join them on a full time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of all manufactured products with respect to engineering specifications, national/international standards, and applicable regulations/legislation.



The successful candidate will be an experienced quality and environmental control professional, skilled in ensuring your company complies with codes and practices, and all legal requirements from both quality and environmental aspects. You will be confident in your area of expertise and able to champion this business-critical function using your own initiative, senior management direction, and company strategy.



You can expect:





  • Salary: £40k - £50k per annum, depending on experience




  • Working hours:  Monday – Thursday (8:30am – 5pm), Friday (8:30am – 2pm)




  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays




  • Pension: 6% company contribution





What you will be doing:





  • Management of the activities and resources of Quality & Environmental Control with an increased interest in sustainability activities 




  • Definition, scheduling and coordination of quality control and testing activities




  • Resource planning and allocation to ensure quality and consistency of service to the production facility




  • Document, record and compliance system management




  • Setting relevant best practice guidelines as the expert in related areas of compliance




  • Internal and external management and audit systems




  • Procurement and customer specification activities




  • Management of the waste packing and environmental sustainability policies, practices, and data collection





What we are looking for:





  • Over 5 years’ senior quality and environmental control experience within a manufacturing setting




  • Confident and reliable with interpreting specification/standards




  • Able to implement systems, schedules and processes, working within real-world constraints




  • Exposure to national and international standards, safe working practices and legislative guidelines




  • Exposure to environmental and sustainability would be advantageous




  • Proficient interrogation of engineering drawings/CAD




  • Confident in taking ownership of tasks




  • Capable of prioritising workloads and working towards optimisation of systems, processes, and production output




  • Prior leadership experience would be beneficial although not essential
