An experienced Quality / FAIRs Engineer is required to join one of the leading Aerospace companies in the UK. Located in the Luton region, you will be working with an established team to support with First Article Inspection Reports. In return, you will receive a salary of �40,000 to �45,000 per annum, company pension, and opportunity to join the share scheme as well as the option for Hybrid working*.

The Quality Engineer will be responsible to managing the FAIRs process and maintaining high standards of Quality at all times. this person will be responsible for promoting best practices and continuous improvements = through effective investigation, evaluation, and feedback of the FAIRs process, along with the following responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Internal Auditing
  • Complete work from engineering drawings and specifications
  • Complete Inspections in accordance with AS9102
  • Use manual inspection equipment such as verniers, callipers, micrometres etc.
  • Review, approve and secure delegated signatory
  • Deal with non-conformance using 8D, 5Whys and other problem solving techniques
  • Ensure corrective and preventive actions have been effectively implemented internally
  • Ensure that FAI (First Article Inspection) report elements are formally reviewed and that anomalies are resolved with the suppliers in a timely manner.

To be successful in the role of Quality Engineer, you will already be working in the Aerospace industry and have been involved in First Article Inspection along with the following requirements.

Requirements:

  • Experienced level in Supplier Quality and processes
  • Aerospace background is essential - working with Quality Standards AS9100D / AS9102
  • Demonstrated ability with quality and continuous improvement tools (Process FMEA, Risk analysis, Causal analysis, 8D, SPC etc.)
  • Ability to communicate effectively (both written and verbal) and work with others both internally, externally, and with other sites
  • Experienced in managing supplier non-conformances and managing suppliers
