Role Overview Reporting to the Quality Supervisor, the
Quality Engineer
will establish, implement, and maintain quality management systems to measure and control quality in the production process. Partnering with key stakeholders, the incumbent will work with the Quality Manager to establish quality standards for individual products and set out the standards in documents and processes for the production team while delivering the Eclipse Vision and the Eclipse Entrepreneurial Culture. The Quality Engineer job responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Develop performance measurements and reporting requirements that set quality metrics for each stage of the production process
Analyze quality problems to identify root causes and implement corrective action
Partner with production staff to raise awareness of the importance of quality and train them in quality procedures
Support quality technicians and provide them with the tools to control quality on the production line
Assist Quality Manager in establishing, implementing, and maintain the quality management system
Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data; making recommendations
Engage in proactive measures, such as developing and implementing continuous improvement programs covering production processes and quality management systems
Work with members of the supply chain to ensure the quality of raw materials, components or sub-assemblies and supporting documentation meets Eclipse’s quality standards
Work with Purchasing to ensure supplier performance is regularly reported and that appropriate and timely corrective actions are implemented
Agree on standards with suppliers and implement inspection processes to monitor incoming material.
Monitor suppliers’ quality performance and implement corrective and preventative measures to deal with any quality issues
Conduct audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audits finding reports, and determine proper corrective and preventive actions
Analyze failure, corrective, and preventive actions to respond to customer complaints
Responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the overall activities of receiving/outgoing quality functions.
Continuously improving QA receiving inspection processes and procedures
Ensure timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions and preventive measure
Conduct supplier audits to drive process standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement
Qualifications:
Post-Secondary Education in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality or other related discipline.
3 to 5 years of experience working in a Quality Engineering role within the nuclear industry
Working knowledge of measurement instruments
Ability to read and understand blueprints and specifications
Good arithmetic skills are required
