Quality Control Supervisor - Hi-Force Limited, UKLocationHi-Force Limited - Daventry, United KingdomSummary of RoleWe are seeking a Quality Control Supervisor to join our team at our Daventry head office in the UK. Reporting to the Design & Technical Manager, you will take charge of the inspection department and will introduce essential improvements where required to establish consistent quality inspections for machined components. Your duties will include maintaining dimensional precision and process control throughout manufacturing, while also driving productivity and efficiency enhancements within the department.Key ResponsibilitiesManage / Supervise personnel within a busy Inspection DepartmentManage the department tooling, calibration, inspection, and goods-in registers and identify equipment requirements to ensure the availability of the correct equipmentMaintain and own the product quarantine and internal issue log processesEnsure the Inspection and Manufacturing departments work well together as a team, sorting out issues, requirements and improvements collaborativelyLiaise with external suppliers, process supplier change requests and present change proposals to TechnicalProvide a monthly report on manufacturing quality performance metrics (concessions, inspection register, goods-in register, warranty data)Create and formalise standard inspection processes within the Inspection and Manufacturing departmentsMonitor and report on key manufacturing quality performance metrics and KPIs for both the component manufacturing facility and inspection departmentProvide quality performance data and trends to suppliers and the Operational management teamAssist with the day-to-day inspection operations: Ensuring first-off machined components, finished components and components requiring external processes are manufactured to the
correct tolerances and comply with the manufacturing drawings
Liaise with the Technical department to ensure that all drawing revisions are current and any design changes which affect the manufacture of components are clearly communicated
Complete patrol inspection to confirm documentation is correctly completed and operator checks are recorded
Liaising with the operations department to ensure external treatments are correctly dispatched and inspected upon return
Communicate dimensional / manufacturing issues through the concessions system Fully comply with and be able to cover ISO systems and proceduresSupport and assist with any warranty claims as the Hi-Force Quality leadEnsure compliance with Company rules and all Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental requirementsSkills/Experience requiredMust have experience in supervising and working within a busy inspection department and managing a teamExtensive knowledge of measuring equipment (coordinate measuring machines (CMM), portable measuring arms, optical measurement systems, micrometers, bore gauges, etc.) is essentialCan demonstrate the ability to successfully work as a team and across teams whilst building effective and strong working relationships with manufacturing and other functionsUnderstanding manufacturing processes and being able to read and fully understand manufacturing drawings is essentialCreating and formalising standard inspection processes is essentialISO9001 (#####) proficiency is advantageousProficient with Microsoft Office tools and ERP systemsExcellent communications skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneouslyHigh level of attention to detail and able to stand firm in the face of quality issues to protect the businessAnalytical, investigative and problem-solving abilities with the ability to make a decision and justify that decision with facts and logic
