Our Macclesfield campus

The business area
The Microbiology Group in the Quality Assurance Department (QAD) performs Quality Control testing and process assurance activities for all production plants on Macclesfield Site plus contract work for Pharmaceutical Development.
The role
Due to expansion of the business, we currently have multiple opportunities for Quality Control Microbiology Technician to formally clear or reject products from the Quality Control laboratory teams against agreed Quality Standards within agreed customer service lead times. Based in the Microbiology QAD laboratories, you must have the flexibility to work within any one of the testing or environmental monitoring teams and you must be prepared to work in an aseptic environment and successfully acquire an aseptic license.
Responsibilities:
Using state of the art microbiology technology including PCR, Rapid microbiology techniques, Nexus endotoxin machines, Maldi-Tof ID, you will actively participate in microbiological product testing, sterility testing, environmental monitoring, microbiological and chemical water testing, microbial identification and media preparation.
Responsible for formally clearing or rejecting products, materials and laboratory results against the agreed Quality Standards to ensure the quality, safety and efficacy of these products to the customer or user.
Ensuring that the appropriate quality systems are followed in order for the laboratory to meet its responsibilities with respect to GCLP (Good Control Laboratory Practice), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and Safety, Health and Environment.
Essential Skills & Experience
Degree in Biology/equivalent or equivalent in experience
Practical microbiological laboratory experience
Knowledge of cGLP and GMP
Ability to work independently out of hours
