SF54346At Babcock we're working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as a Quality Control Inspector at our Rosyth location.The RoleAs a Quality Control Inspector, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll support the Quality Manager in ensuring the Type 31 Royal Navy Frigate quality objectives are met when it comes to the ships outfitting.Day to day, you'll conduct product verification audits and quality investigations on board ship as required, as well as:The Installation inspection and acceptance of ships machinery/equipment & systemsProvide close liaison with Lloyds Register (LR) and other inspection and verification bodies as required.Manage the inspection test report inspection regime and maintain completion records within CMS.Manage and coordinate LR inspections..Update and communicate inspection metrics in line with day-to-day activities.This role is full time and based onsite at Rosyth.Experience required of the Quality Control InspectorAn excellent knowledge of quality control requirementsThe capability to assess the work carried out by production and their subcontractors to assure the quality and the technical acceptability of the work presented.A background knowledge in outfitting whether it be from Construction / Civil Engineering / Ship Building etcAn understanding of ship installations is beneficialAbility to read and interpret system drawings & specifications.Qualifications for the Quality Control InspectorQualified to a recognised trade standard and a relevant academic level (HNC/SVQ Level 3)The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.Our BenefitsGenerous holiday allowanceMatched contribution pension scheme up to 8% of salary, with life assuranceEmployee share schemeEmployee shopping savings portalPayment of Professional FeesReservists in the armed forces receive 10-days special paid leaveHoliday Trading is a benefit that allows the majority of employees to buy additional leave or to sell up to one working week of annual leave from their annual entitlement'Be Kind Day' enables employees to take one working day's paid leave a year (or equivalent hours) to undertake volunteering work with their chosen organisation or registered charityBabcock InternationalFor over a century Babcock International have helped to defend nations, protect communities and build a better world.
