Job Description£25-30K - Exeter/Topsham Based – Full Time Permanent RoleMy client is hiring a QA technician to join their growing Product Development team within the outdoor/marine industry. The right candidate will contribute to the excellence of their products, ensuring they meet electric, IP and thermal regulations.In this role, you will be responsible for managing their in-house test facility and liaising with external laboratories and test houses, ensuring their products undergo thorough testing.Your Duties: Folling our proven model of Safe Certified, Approved model approach during the development processAssisting the Quality Manager with product compliance documentation. Guarantee products comply with all relevant global regulatory requirements.Display a meticulous attention to detailLead the preparation of essential documentation, reports, and submissionsThis role is full-time and based in our impressive, purpose-built offices on the edge of Topsham.Key Responsibilities: Assume ownership of the product, overseeing compliance and testing processes. Lead global regulatory compliance efforts for our products, actively identifying and addressing upcoming regulatory changes. Manage partnerships related to product compliance testing. Guide product testing throughout the development life cycle.Collaborate with Quality and Design managers to create and own product test specifications.Develop test procedures, protocols, standards, plans, and reports.Perform hands-on product testing as required.Maintain in house test equipment.Participate in product risk assessments, such as FMEA, to proactively mitigate potential risks. Key Skills: Technician level or Level 4 (HNC) or above in Mechanical Engineering or other related discipline.Strong logical thinking, analytical abilities, and written communication skills.Ability to interpret engineering drawings. Strong project management skills, working on multiple projects simultaneously.1+ years’ experience working in industry. Experience in managing global product compliance, including CE, UKCA, RoHS, REACH, Prop 65 and other relevant standards is beneficial.Experience of 5s/6s, RCCA, and problem-solving is beneficial.CAD experience beneficial but not essential.
