Overview:
Everest People Solutions are recruiting for a Quality Manager for a food processing plant based in Northamptonshire. This presents a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a family business and drive positive change daily. The role offers a specific factory-based focus and is situated within a small technical team with diverse backgrounds and experiences. The primary objective is to ensure that all products manufactured at the site are safe, legal, authentic, and meet the quality expectations of customers and consumers. The successful candidate will be tasked with guiding the fast-paced site towards standards that would withstand the most rigorous inspections, always ensuring audit readiness.
Key Duties & Responsibilities for the Quality Manager
Drive preparation of the site for audits and address identified issues through collaborative efforts to enhance site preparedness.
Maintain high-level site certifications (BRC etc) and pursue new standards by:
Collaboratively updating procedures and processes to meet requirements and promote continuous improvement.
Identifying and addressing risks and gaps in processes and practices that could jeopardize site certification.
Addressing housekeeping, fabrication, and hygiene concerns promptly.
Conducting factory-based Internal Audits and addressing non-conformances.
Enhance site hygiene through training initiatives, challenges to cleaning methods, post-clean inspections, and sign-offs.
Lead customer and third-party factory tours and audits when required.
Create, manage, and maintain Factory Quality Attribute Sheets to ensure clarity on standards for products and customers.
Investigate quality concerns, identify root causes, and provide appropriate feedback and documentation.
Develop, implement, and manage Quality Action Plans and strategies based on GMP, complaints, and quality feedback to improve standards continually.
Establish a QACCP system with clearly defined quality controls for all areas.
Contribute to supplier review and approval by monitoring raw material quality and addressing rejections and non-conformances.
Implement the Food Safety/Quality Culture Plan within the factory.
Participate in and initiate continuous improvement projects.
Ensure effectiveness of Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) processes within their areas and develop competencies of staff continuously.
Ensure full implementation of corrective and preventative actions within the factory.
Provide factory-based training and development to operational staff on quality and food safety best practices.
Requirements for the Quality Manager
Demonstrate commitment and reliability.
Possess relevant qualifications and experience in quality management within a factory setting.
Exhibit the ability to address challenges and influence behaviours in a fast-paced environment.
Have previous experience in manufacturing for both retail and foodservice sectors.
Showcase experience in high-risk chilled environments.
Demonstrate significant involvement in site food safety audits.
Possess the ability to analyse data and drive continuous quality improvement.
Be on a developmental path with the goal of becoming a Technical Manager.
