Quality assurance, or game testing, is crucial to ensure that games are launched without bugs and other mistakes.In complex games, large teams of testers are required to explore the many possible variations of play. These include spotting visual glitches, spelling mistakes across different languages and inconsistencies across different consoles.As Quality Assurance Manager you organise this task efficiently and ensure that problems are reported accurately so they can be fixed. You prioritise urgent issues, manage large numbers of game testers and communicate clearly with the development team.Many Quality Assurance Managers have a degree, which provides professional development and a recognised qualification to employers. However, there are many available pathways and all people working in games claim a unique career journey. Above all, you will need to demonstrate passion and skills in your chosen field. For this job role, you should be someone who has a meticulous eye for detail, loves games and enjoys leading a team.As a professional, you’ll be ensuring high standards by tracking and fixing any bugs during game development.
