Quality Assurance Manager [Insurance Claims]LondonHybrid, two days in officePermanentWe are a fast-growing global reinsurance speciality company servicing the insurance markets of Lloyd’s, Europe and North America.Due to growth, our European Claims Director is looking for our first QA Manager to establish a new team and conduct quality assurance reviews and audits to monitor adherence to claims handling guidelines and delegated authorities. The new QA Manager will have a global remit, also encompassing our North American insurance portfolios. They will also be the key contact for external claims audits.You’ll have a strong background in an insurance environment, along with outstanding management ability.
Responsibilities• Develop a quality-assurance process that seeks to deliver stable and predictable releases.• Create and enforce the quality standards, procedures and policies for the Claims department.• Assess and determine how potential process creation/improvement will impact claims and the wider business.• Undertake quality monitoring reviews throughout the Claims department• Create process maps and manuals from the ground up using operational excellence tools and methodology.• Report on metrics and impact to standard operating procedures because of implemented processes and improvements.• Identify solutions as part of the review process and deliver findings to key stakeholders.• Oversee and monitor breach logging, further to QA findings, undertaking appropriate root cause analysis and engaging with the business to ensure delivery of improvements.• Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with our regulatory requirements as appropriate.• Accountable for the company peer review process, monitoring performance against process and technical measures. Produce accurate and timely reports and follow up on feedback recommendations.• Building and overseeing a small quality assurance team.• Acting as a point of claims expertise with other internal departments to resolve queries and external auditors amidst claims audits.
Candidate requirements• Strong experience in insurance claims quality assurance or a related discipline: at least five years processes design & improvement or relevant claims operations experience• Lean/Six Sigma or other project and qualification highly regarded but not essential• Critical thinking skills and attention to detail• Strong ability with numbers and data analysis skills• Effective verbal and written communication skills• Ability to develop good working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders – including C-suite• Consistently act as a role model to other members of the team• Adaptability and a flexible, open-minded approach to change• Complaint resolution skills• Excellent level of computer skills using MS Excel and Word as well as other systems• Experience with Big 4 auditors or internal audit of an insurer would be beneficial• Contributing positively to our culture and values.Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interviewIf your application is successful, we will conduct relevant employment checks prior to you beginning employment with us.
