Randstad are recruiting for a Qualified Social Worker to join Wigan Council's Fostering/CIC Team. This is a full time role offering a fantastic pay rate of £35 per hour.

Responsibilities:
You will manage a diverse, complex and varied caseload, always being child centered in your approach.
You will bring your knowledge and expertise to the role to work in order to make effective decisions in recruiting and assessing our foster carers in ensuring we offer the best stable placements for our children and young people.
You will assess, supervise and support Friends and Family Foster Carers and prospective Special Guardians to a high standard, to support children remaining within friends and family networks where safe and possible if they are unable to remain with their parents.
Undertake comprehensive Fostering and SGO assessments of prospective Carers.
Supervise and support foster carers in meeting the needs of looked after children.
Attend court as and when necessary.
Contribute to the overall development of services for children and their families.
To undertake child and family assessments, in partnership with the Child, their parents or carers and other agencies, ensuring that the child and the child's voice is central to the assessment, with appropriate consideration and analysis of risk.
To provide support, guidance, advice and services to children, young people and families/ carers to ensure that issues of concern are identified and are addressed in a timely manner and that the needs of the child are reassessed and reviewed as appropriate.
To promote the welfare of children and young people in accordance with the Children Act 1989 criteria, and taking account of other relevant legislation as appropriate.
Be involved in permanency planning for children, ensuring their holistic needs are met in their long-term placement.
To work in accordance with national and local policies and procedures, and using the law, regulatory and statutory guidance to inform practice decisions.
Requirements:
Social Work Degree or equivalent
Social Work England registered
Enhanced DBS
