Job OverviewAs QESH Manager you will ensure that the company's product portfolio is fit for purpose, is consistent and meets both internal and external requirements, including legal compliance and customer expectations.You must fully understand the requirements for the product or service and have a sense of responsibility towards our potential and existing customers as well as the competition. The goal is to help preserve our reputation by ensuring that our products and services are capable to drive sustainable growth.You will be our champion and leader on business environmental obligations.ResponsibilitiesImplement all relevant procedures described in the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure complianceLead on ensuring the business is compliant regarding sustainability responsibilities and environmental legislation and standards.Devising and implementing environmental frameworks, policies and proceduresDelivering best practicesManaging audits on environmental projects and practices as the business compliance grows.Ensure that all in-house systems and procedures are updated, revised and modified to meet the needs of external certification bodiesRespond to customer complaints putting in containment actions, full analysis, poka-yokes (error proofing), and implementing short-term and long-term countermeasuresChampion a program for the implementation and sustainment of a continuous improvement culture and environmental awareness and commitment.Act as a point of contact for warranty issuesUpdate quality documentation and communicate to carry forward lessons learned from quality concerns in new customer contractsEnsure that all necessary systems and procedures are in place to satisfy all customer requirements and auditsIntroduce new systems and procedures where appropriateDevelop quality-process links with customers in line with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)Work with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliersMake sure that production processes meet required standardsDefine quality procedures in relation to operating staffSet up and maintain controls and documentation proceduresWork closely and manage the H&S Officer to provide best service to businessEnsure compliance and assist with adherence to the Quality Management system (ISO9001)Manage the high level documentation of ISO45001Devise and deliver in-house training for quality awarenessReport on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in order to adhere to process and prevent occurrence of any non-conformity relating to product, process or systemAssist with first off sample approvalsManage the Supplier Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Manage and coordinate customer PPM (Parts per Million), supplier PPM, supplier problem solving on time, cost recovery and supplier warranty indicatorsKeep up with current and developing manufacturing and engineering trends that concern product qualityKnowledge of quality systems and measurement Strong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) Understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes Planning and prioritizing activitiesQualifications and ExperienceRelevant business/commercial or manufacturing/engineering degree preferred, or ONC, A Levels, BTec Diploma Level 4 or equivalent NVQ level 4 qualificationSix Sigma/Lean ManufacturingMembership of an industry related Professional Body would be advantageousDemonstrate a real passion for sustainability and environmental challengesExperience of working in a similar rolePrevious experience in a high volume manufacturing automotive environment or Tier-1 supplier to the automotive industryExperience in compiling andactioning: ControlProcess flowMeasurement system and analysisReview, update and maintain the companies HSE Policies and ProceduresManage and maintain the companies EMS System and ISO 14001 AccreditationLiaise with the Local Authorities and Environment AgencyConduct COSHH AssessmentsConduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify hazards, evaluate risks, and implement appropriate control measures to mitigate occupational health and safety risks across all areas of the foundry operations.Lead investigations into incidents, accidents, near misses, and environmental spills, identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.Stay abreast of emerging health, safety, and environmental trends, regulations, and best practices, and proactively incorporate relevant changes into the organisation's HSE management systemNice to have but not pre requisite:Hold a NEBOSH General or IOSH/CMIOSH, NVQ Level 4, NCRQ or Equivalent in occupational health and safetyIdeally have an environmental management qualification such as IEMA but not essentialHave a hands on and pro-active approach to Health and Safety and environmental responsibilities
