QA Tester

Reports To Digital DirectorPosition Summary The QA Tester is primarily responsible for quality assurance across all digital materials coded by the development team. The QA Tester runs various tests and reports to ensure that work meets all standards and guidelinesKey CapabilitiesPassionate aboutdigital technologies Always delivers‘great stuff’Ability to manage pressure and deadlines Develops strong relationships internallyResponsibilities Responsibilities To consistently ensure the delivery of ‘great stuff’• Define and uphold the QA process and set the highest standards in testing to support the requirements of the project• Ensure that all issues & bugs are reported in an efficient & informative manner• Own, manage, create and regularly execute test cases throughout the project life cycle. This includes documenting testing practices, QA process and reporting methods• Building automated performance testing and tracking• Provide suggestions for improvements in testing strategies & processesDemonstrates teamwork at all times• Actively participate in test requirement gathering with the development team to ensure QA effectively tests & supports all features of the project• Work closely with the development team in identifying, reporting & recreating bugs• Communicates with other team members and the wider agency effectively• Takes accountability for a range of projects using different technologiesUnderstands our work, our Network and our Clients• A very good eye for detail and consistency across all work• Builds client confidence by demonstrating an ability to successfully test and deliver a quality product• Has knowledge and understanding of agency processesand how QA fits into the project scope• Acts as an advocate and supporter of DDB Remedy in all interactionswith the client or external suppliers Requirements Creativity• Accepts that a certain amount of trial and error will be inevitable and does not get frustrated when things don’t go to plan• Is not afraid of the unknown but thrives on it• Consistently delivers solutions that exceed standards• Demonstrates an understanding of how development plays a partin the larger creative output of the projectProductivity• Coordinates tasks, when necessary, to achieve maximum productivity• Remains calm under pressure, does not pass stress on to co-workers• Plans and organize to complete work efficiently• Working to tight deadlines• Provides accurate estimates for scope and scale of work• Able to utilise time and budget to its maximum potential• Follows processes to ensure flawless executionRelationships/Communication• Must be friendly, approachable and have a ‘can do’ attitude• Has ability to simplify complicated technical subjects for non-technical audiences• Builds effective relationships with colleagues, clients and vendors• Has the ability to build trust internally and externally• Gains full respect of client team, seen as having significant impactKnowledge and Skills• Skilled in developing and implementing strong and comprehensive test plans• A good technological understanding of front-/back-end and app development• Proficiency with tackling larger scale, complex projects• Continually strives to find, learn and share new technologies• Proficiency with industry standards• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Provides and encourages knowledge sharing within DDBDesirable:• Previous experience as a font-/back-end developer• UX/UI experienceEssential:• Relevant qualifications either university or apprenticeship• Proficient in QA testing and generating reports• A thorough understanding of digital processes• Must be friendly, approachable and have a ‘can do’ attitude What we offer At DDB Remedy we have an underlying belief that our agency and specialist services should reflect the society in which we live.
