Software QA Engineer (for Music Education Software)
Luminary ROLI is looking for a Software QA Engineer for the LUMI Music App, the software that drives our music learning platform LUMI.LUMI is changing how people play and learn music by offering an integrated hardware and software experience for knowing how to play the piano. LUMI was initially launched on Kickstarter and became the most successfully backed musical instrument on the platform, making Time magazine's top 100 inventions for 2019.As a Software QA Engineer, you will ensure the quality of innovative software products across various platforms. You will work closely with the Software and QA Teams to plan, execute, and document tests for our existing products and new products in development, focusing on Luminary ROLI's creator experience.The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with mobile apps and devices and playing the piano. Knowledge and a keen interest in software testing that demonstrates key competencies are also necessary to succeed in this role.
What you’ll do:
Work closely with the QA Team and Software Development Team to maintain a high level of quality throughout the development process.
Assist in various QA activities including:
Identifying issues in development builds and producing detailed bug reports
Execute planned test cases, as well as creating/maintaining test plans and test cases as required
Assist in the maintenance of existing products, as well as providing support towards new products in development across multiple platforms and devices.
Advocate for user interests by employing manual testing and music theory knowledge, continuously seeking areas of improvement in software quality and providing constructive feedback to the team.
What you’ll need:
Experience working with mobile apps and web technologies
Proficiency in playing the piano and an understanding of music theory
Analytical and inquisitive mindset, with an ability to discuss complex problems
A passion for music and music technology
Clear and articulate communication skills, with excellent written English
Ability to work independently whilst maintaining communication and alignment with the rest of the teams and stakeholders.
Knowledge and experience in music education
Familiarity with Agile development processes and knowledge of bug tracking systems (e.g. Jira)
Experience with coding or test automation
